Having chased the sun and caught it in Japan, the Springboks embark on a new journey. With fresh faces and renewed vigour, Jacques Nienaber’s Bokke have some fresh blood and a new challenge – to defend the famous Webb Ellis Trophy.

However, preparation is key!

And there is no better way to prepare than with the southern hemisphere’s most illustrious and exhilarating test competition, the Rugby Championship.
Home games against Australia (08 July 2023; Loftus Versfeld – 17:05) and Argentina (29 July 2023; Emirates Ellis Park – 09:05) are sandwiched between a tough assignment away to New Zealand (15 July 2023; Auckland – 17:05).

SuperSport is where all the fervent fans of the famous green and gold can catch all the action on SuperSport Grandstand, DStv channel 201. Not only will the Home of Sport offer high-quality analysis before, during and after games, but fans can also expect an exclusive special broadcast between Rassie Erasmus (Director of Rugby) and Jacques Nienaber (Springbok Coach).

The in-depth one-on-one, premiering on Friday, 07 July 2023, on the eve of this week’s season-opening international against Australia at Loftus Versfeld, will lift the curtain on SuperSport’s road to the Rugby World Cup, starting this week.

With the Rugby Championship a compelling forerunner, SA Rugby’s director of rugby and the Springbok coach talk about their prospects, the team dynamics and whether or not they intend to keep their powder dry in the build-up to their World Cup title defence. It’s a fascinating interview with Owen Nkumane in the SuperSport chair asking the critical questions.

Viewers can catch the special on SuperSport Grandstand and Rugby, DStv channels 201 and 211 respectively at 19:15, from the comfort of their home as the never-before-seen special broadcast serves as a tantalising appetizer to the much anticipated test season.

With less than 100 days to go till the Springboks defend their crown in France, Siya Kolisi and his compatriots will wrap up their World Cup preparations with three (3) warm-up fixtures abroad.

Matches against Los Pumas in Buenos Aires (05 August 2023 - 16:00) and the 9th world-ranked Wales team in Cardiff (19 August 2023 – 16:15) will precede a rematch with southern hemisphere rivals, New Zealand at Twickenham (25 August 2023 – 20:30) in three blockbuster encounters guaranteed to energize the nation before Amabhokobhoko’s title defence.

For fans who cannot travel to watch their heroes in the flesh, they need not leave their homes as the Home of Sport will broadcast every fixture and amplify their viewing pleasure through comprehensive 360 coverage, making sure every blade of grass is covered.
