Here’s what Developer Homolahm had to say about one of Comic-Cons most talked about section- Gaming!

As a Gaming Developer what are you responsible for?

We barely think about the behind the scenes of all our loved games, we dived code-deep and got to know how it all comes together.
“Ensuring that all facets of the game are being developed in optimal time so that everything mashes into each other to form one game with different stages. And also solving any gaming problems.”

Where did it all start ?

With having to develop characters from scratch and give them meaning we got to find out how his love for creating them grew from a tender age. “It’s a passion that I grew up with from a young age. Since I played my first arcade game which was King of Fighters, I started recreating the characters with paper and played with my cousins and sort of made the rules around them.”
Homolahm shows us that it wasn’t just about playing the game for him but also the structure, rules and regulations he implemented in bringing the game to life.

With the University of The Witwatersrand offering a 4-year Degree in Game Design and Development, we already know how Homolahm became a pro at developing games.

From growing up developing characters and the do’s-and-don’ts on how to play the game, he did not find much of a difference with doing it in a lecture room. The only separation being how the knowledge is broken down into something you can digest academically rather than doing it intuitively. Homolahm developed his first ever 3-phase game called ‘The Milky Way Brotherly Feud’ where two brothers are battling against each other in the Milky Way.
